MV Ortelius Antarctica Cruise
Originally built in Poland as a special purpose vessel, the ice strengthened Ortelius is a modern, comfortable expedition ship that can cater to 116 passengers.
The Ortelius has highest ice classification making it suitable in the most ice dense regions of Antarctica and why she is perfect for voyages into as far as the Ross Sea.
Ortelius Antarctic Cruise Experience
Each day, passengers on the Ortelius will be treated to an interactive adventure program through Antarctic waters.
Travellers can learn from highly experienced crew as part of detailed lectures, or can spend time viewing the gorgeous surrounds from the bridge, the bar and social areas.
Guests will make use of the 10 zodiac vessels onboard to complete their daily activities to get up close to Antarctic wildlife and landings.
Trips are designed to spend as much time on shore in Antarctica as possible.

MV Ortelius Cabin Choices
Antarctic travellers can choose from a range of accommodation options on the MV Ortelius all with private facilities.
The Quadruple and triple porthole cabins are ideal for groups of friends or single travellers wishing to share with someone of the same gender.
All twin cabins have lower birth bedding arrangements (not bunk style) but vary in terms of viewing and size capacity and decks. Choose from Twin Porthole Deck 3 and Twin Porthole Deck 4 in the more affordable twin share categories.
Larger windows are available on the Twin Superior and Twin Deluxe Cabins.
The highest category available is the superior cabin and comes complete with a double bed plus sofa (bed), private ensuite bathroom, plenty of room plus a tv, desk and chair for your convenience.
Special Activities aboard the M/V Ortelius Antarctic Cruise
The MV Ortelius offers some great oboard activities for an extra fee such as Antarctic camping and kayaking on select departures.
Basecamp Ortelius voyages include all activities such as camping, kayaking, mountaineering, snowshoeing/hiking and photo workshops. Polar Diving is available on specific dates for an extra cost.
A special Weddell Sea departure also includes the use of helicopters on board for planned ship to shore excursions.
