Constructed to provide optimum comfort and stability and launched just last season the Magellan Explorer Fly Cruise offers a luxurious and interactive travel experience of Antarctica. With enough space for 73 passengers, you’ll appreciate the opportunity to exchange with your fellow travellers whilst also having a number of places to enjoy a quiet moment alone as you take in the beauty of the destination. The Magellan Explorer cruise vessel was completed in 2019 and is staffed by 69 crew members to ensure a truly personalised and premium service cruise adventure where you will feel comfortable despite the icy conditions as you snuggle up to exclusive features such as a glass enclosed observation lounge, stylish dining room, well stocked bar, library, meeting room, custom designed gym, sauna and medical clinic.
Magellan Explorer Deck Plan
The Magellan Explorer features five decks and seven accommodation categories including a dedicated single cabin for your Antarctic cruise. You will find a gift shop on deck 3 close to the ample dining room and additional amenities onboard such a meeting room, full workout gym by Anytime Fitness, library, sauna and observation deck are located on deck 4. Meanwhile on the the top deck number 5, you will find an additional outdoor deck next to the observation lounge as well as outdoor bbq area.
Your Experience on the Magellan Explorer Cruise
Part of the thrill of your experience on the Magellan Explorer will be reaching or leaving Antarctica as part of a unique fly cruise program where you will fly across the Drake Passage in order to board your vessel on King George Island. Once onboard the Magellan Explorer, choose where you will enjoy observing Antarctica’s spectacular animal life and impressive scenery, from the forward facing observation lounge which leads onto the ship’s bow, or the spacious dining room or alternative observation platforms and deck. On your travels, take in a lecture led by scientists and experts will be conducted in the state of the art presentation room or just admire, observe and photograph the mesmerising wildlife and wilderness.
Magellan Explorer Cruise Cabins
There are seven cabin options you can choose from as part of your Antarctic adventure on the Magellan Explorer cruise.
The Twin Porthole, Deluxe and Veranda cabins all offer a sitting area with balcony whilst 3 passengers can be accommodated in a triple suite with beds across two rooms.
For an extra touch of class and space, the premium Penthouse and Grand Suite Cabins are also divided int a two room cabin.
Dedicated single cabins are also available on the Magellan Explorer cruise.
All twin cabins onboard the Magellan Explorer can be configured into a king size and all cabins include a wardrobe, individually controlled heating system, sitting area and private shower.
Special Activities on your Magellan Explorer Antarctica Cruise
By taking an Antarctica cruise on the Magellan Explorer, you’ll have the opportunity to explore one of the world’s wildest destinations through a true interactive adventure and unique fly cruise expedition.
Select departures on the Magellan Explorer include additional activities such as kayaking or camping (which need to be pre-booked) or Hiking and Snowshoeing as part of your antarctic landing which can be arranged whilst on the ship.
Antarctic Travel Routes on the Magellan Explorer
The Magellan Explorer offers adventures to the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula, explores as far as the Antarctic Circle as well as the Falkland Islands & South Georgia. Special departures explore the Ushuaia, Cape Horn and Falkland Islands.

Diesel Engine, Propulsion 3440 kw and capable of travelling at 14 knots in open water.
Private Charter flights to/from Punta Arenas Chile and King George Island, Antarctica (depending on itinerary,) accommodation onboard the Magellan Explorer, daily activities and landings, all meals, lecture series and briefings, use of rubber boots.
